What is Propeller Head Hosting?
Founded in 2003 - For Ecommerce, by Ecommerce
PropellerHeadHosting.com was founded after noticing a lot of ecommerce sites were struggling with various hosting alternatives within support forums for ecommerce applications. The name comes from a joking-like compliment a forum moderator named Dan called the founder right before starting PropellerheadHosting.com, calling him the "propeller head" they turn to. The name, while longer than initially desired, seemed to fit a hosting company that is knowledgeable, so it stuck. The rest is history.
Smaller & Independent
We do not host millions of sites, not even hundreds of thousands. We are not part of a large corporation, but we do offer professional hosting services with a personal touch that many small businesses like. We host big ones too, but we really love helping smaller businesses and websites grow and thrive and we have watched thousands over almost 2 decades as they change with the technology and markets. We like to strive to treat every account as being important, no matter how small or large. So if you want a hosting partner that is not buried in many layers of management and policy, who understands many of the challenges of your small or medium-sized business, who remembers your name and values your business, then PropellerHeadHosting.com is your ticket.
Security Minded
While no hosting company is immune from attacks and breaches, we do our best to keep your data and site secure. We use hardened PHP, Python, Ruby and more to help protect your applications from known issues. We keep our servers up to date, which is easier to do with our modular hosting system. We also protect your site performance by isolating troublesome neighbors on the same hosting platform, which helps keep your site humming along.
Specialties
Our main specialty is ecommerce. Plain and simple. Doesn't matter the product or service, we love to help 99% of the time. However we also have great understanding of the needs for other types of sites such as "stay at home mom (or dad)" type businesses, crafting sites, ranching, farming, family reunions, family history, photography, artist galleries, web designers, design portfolios, marketing, law enforcement, software development, open source software sites, and military owned or oriented sites.
