I have had very few problems with them and I have several clients web sites with them too. Usually they fix everything pretty quickly. Monday, July 29, 2013 #8969 Louis Marshall Ziphosting 'Cloud Platinum' hosting - lacklustre at best. I purchased the 'platinum cloud hosting' package from Ziphosting and frankly was disappointed; especially after having bought domain names via Ziphosting (which I never had a problem with). I could only tolerate the lacklustre service for so long before going elsewhere. Some of the problems I had with Ziphosting included: Being told parent paths weren't available (a common feature provided by other hosts). I was told it would cost $300 to restore a ms sql database backup (a 5 minute task). I submitted a support ticket to have permissions set on some folders. Waited 3 days without hearing a word from Ziphosting, then had to re-request the support. I was then told that permissions had been set, they hadn't been. Asked again folder permissions be set, was ignored (never heard back from anyone). To top it all off, after I cancelled my account due to poor service, Ziphosting refused to give me a refund on the unused portion of my service (should I be surprised?). 2 of 2 people found this review helpful. My business shut down for the day with no response from them. This after paying them for 3 years. No phone number so no responsibility. Don't know how much money my business has lost. That is the only thing they having going for them. Even though I knew I would have problems I just got another site through them once again because of price. Their actual site builder product is so restricting it's unbelievable. Their customer service is the worst I have ever encountered. Expect a lot of delays and frustrations if you deal with this company. But they are cheap. I guess you get what you pay for but as a small business this is all I could afford at the moment. They claim 24x7x365 uptime but I have experienced so many instances of my site being down due to their servers - and it has only been live now for less than a month. Support is only by Live Chat and is staffed by unknowledgable individuals who point you to the online knowledgebase. 24/7 support only means an online ticket system where the usual response time is 4 days and then nothing is fixed. Knowledgebase has conflicting information for setup of nameservers and email etc. The iMAP implementation is bad - unable to get emails for 4 days due to max connections error. My website has been down intermittently every week. Overall it was a terrible mistake to move to ZipHosting.
