We saw this problem years ago. In 2006, we conducted a seminar at the University of Cape Town, to help MBA students think creatively about new product development. Students had been struggling with time-consuming, old-school learning methods. But on our seminar they were shocked that they could activate their creative agility instantly.
We looked for software to do this at scale. Finding none, we chose as our mission to become world leaders in activating behavior change at scale. Not just for the mental models underpinning creativity and innovation, but for any mental model.
Cognician delivers immediate, significant and measurable activation in three to thirty days. Team members complete daily challenges throughout a time-limited quest. These challenges consist of actions that drive the desired behaviors into the muscle.
The Cognician interface presents a real, familiar person as your virtual coach. The coach engages you as a friend might, with plain talk and deep questions. Learning and change happens through the dialogue, which inspires and guides you. And it's reinforced through the challenges and follow-through reminders, which hold you accountable. After practicing new behaviors the system asks people to reflect on their experiences. Because people learn more through reflecting on experiences than from the experiences alone. Through the system, people share insights which yield meaningful peer-to-peer, social learning. Users like the insights shared by their colleagues, and add comments.So what's been the impact of our work?
Allianz used Cognician to improve the speech skills and personal credibility of top performers. This generated a 21% increase in financial growth post-program.
The West Midlands Police used Cognician to help officers and the community adopt digital channels. The adoption rate doubled.
Since 2016 Accenture has used Cognician for onboarding new joiners. This resulted in a 5% productivity gain. They've also activated behavior change using more than 100 other Cognician programs.
