SimScale Product Details

SimScale offers an engineering simulation tool for CFD, FEA, and thermal analysis all accessible through one platform over the web. What makes it unique:

  • Works with your standard CAD tool: SimScale supports all standard 3D files so you can continue using the CAD system you are familiar with. Simply upload a CAD model from your desktop or import it directly from Onshape.
  • Can be used from anywhere with any device: With SimScale stationary workstations and external hard drivers for file-sharing are the thing of the past. All you need is an internet connection and a browser to run and share even the most complex simulations. You can start validating your design on a work computer, finish using a laptop at home, to finally present the results to the client on a tablet.
  • Beginner-friendly and feature-rich at the same time: Most simulation tools are complex and difficult to understand. SimScale uses a lean simulation workflow that guides the user step-by-step through the design validation process, making simulation easier to learn and accessible to everyone on your team.
  • Supporting testing of multiple variants in parallel: With SimScale your processing power is not tied up in the simulation process. You can run as many studies in parallel as you want while continuing to work just as normal. That’s the power of the cloud.
  • Cutting the cost of simulation: SimScale helps you save money by cutting the cost of an expensive high-performance computing (HPC) and the software maintenance fees by leveraging the power of cloud computing. You can run demanding simulations on a laptop while we take care of software updates in the background for you.
  • Enabling easy collaboration: Multiple users are able to work simultaneously from any location. Different team members are able to access the same project in real-time. All of this, controlled through a dashboard that can display computing usage overview and more.

SimScale Support & Customer Service

Getting the simulation setup just right sometimes needs the input from a simulation expert. Our world-class customer support team as well as a community of experts, are available for you in the real-time to help you get started or answer any questions on the way via chat, phone or email.

SimScale also offers consulting services in the area of design validation with CFD, FEA, and thermal analysis.

Pros: The user interface for this software, coupled with fantastic customer support and training, make it very easy to jump in and start using it to model complex scenarios from day one. The cloud-based computing means that I didn't need to dedicate an expensive computer to CFD modeling, and could run multiple simulations at once while still operating my main computer.

Cons: I've used the software primarily for CFD, and there have been a few pieces of openFOAM functionality (which is simscale's CFD backend) that haven't yet been migrated into simscale, so flexibility in modeling is slightly reduced from openFOAM. However, this is greatly made up for by the ease of use of the software and community experience.

Overall: Great training and customer support, easy to use interface that didn't require linux knowledge or other specialized knowledge. Ability to run models from any browser without the need for complex comput

Simscale is clearly the leader in cloud-based simulation software. I was able to quickly learn the application and perform several simulations. The ability to share the projects and work in distributed teams is beneficial and the features appear to be improving rapidly.

I tried it few times and it was working properly.

Pros: ease of use, you can have old computer, based on world most powerful solvers

Cons: some complicated simulations can have problems

But if you will be FEA/CFD analyst, you need to know what are you doing.

Conclusion: You need try it, it is based on world most powerfull solvers, so when you know what you are doing, you can get great results with simscale.
