The free version of this app is hands down the best on the market. I use the Asana, GitHub, and ToDo interfaces to easily track time spent on different research projects and tasks. The desktop app also detects when I am not using the computer or forget to start tracking time. Very useful to look back and see how long projects took, making future work planning much more accurate. My one comment for improvement would be with regard to the productivity tracker. I don't use this feature, but for those who do, this metric doubles when working on a remote desktop. Seems like there should be an easy fix for this.

After trying out a whole host of time-tracking apps, I've been using TMetric steadily for a couple years now. The best feature is the automatic activity tracker built into the desktop app. It's a lifesaver to be able to go back when I forgot to categorize a time block and see what I was working on at the time. The app is very focused on Team use and is a bit clunky for freelancers. I don't use the Task or Description fields, just the Projects, but there isn't any way to hide these fields so I'm always having to skip them or ignore them. There also isn't any way to delete a record from the activity tracker. So if I accidentally leave my timer running and check my personal email or finances or my kid or my wife uses my computer, the program is tracking all of that activity as well and there's no way to delete it. Customer service has been prompt but quite terse.
