Five years of selling digital products through 2Checkout will teach you exactly where the edges are. And I mean that in the best possible way. The subscription billing logic is solid, the multi-currency support has saved my small operation enormous headaches, and the checkout conversion rates are genuinely hard to argue with. But here is the honest part: you will hit edge cases. VAT handling for certain EU jurisdictions required a support ticket every single time until I finally memorized the workaround. Refund logic on subscription upgrades mid-cycle confused the system more than once. Not dealbreakers, just things to document and own.
What keeps me here after all this time is that they have quietly fixed a lot of the friction I logged in years two and three. Their fraud detection catches things my previous payment processor missed entirely. For a tiny team like mine, where nobody has time to babysit a payment stack, 2Checkout does the heavy lifting well. Know its quirks upfront and it rewards you.
