CertCapture has honestly changed how I think about exemption certificate management. Six months ago, my filing cabinet was a disaster and every audit notice made my stomach drop. Now, the automated certificate collection workflow does the heavy lifting. Avalara sends requests directly to our donors and vendors, tracks expiration dates, and flags anything that needs attention before it becomes a problem. For a nonprofit where I wear about five hats, that kind of automation is not a luxury. It is survival.
The learning curve was real at first. The interface isn't immediately obvious, and I had to lean on their onboarding resources more than I expected. But once the workflow clicked, things moved fast. Customer support was responsive every time I reached out, which I didn't always expect at our organization's size. Given what we'd have paid a consultant to sort out our certificate backlog, the value is genuinely hard to argue with.
