Been using Slack across our infrastructure team for two years now. The integrations with PagerDuty, GitHub, and Datadog are essential to how we run incidents. Channels stay organised when you actually enforce workflow conventions, but it gets noisy fast without discipline. Threads are a love-hate situation - good for keeping signal clean, awful for catching up after PTO. Search has improved but still struggles with code snippets. Huddles work fine for quick syncs without the Zoom overhead. Pricing per seat starts to sting once you cross 200 users, especially factoring in connector ecosystem costs. That said, it does the job for engineering comms and we'd struggle to migrate off it now. Solid tool, not magic.
