Three years running HR for a mid-sized education nonprofit, and the thing that keeps me loyal to Zoho People is honestly just how rarely it breaks. I can count unplanned outages on one hand. That matters enormously when staff are trying to submit leave requests before a school term starts, or when payroll-adjacent timesheets need to be finalised on a tight deadline. The attendance tracking and timesheet tools have been consistently reliable, the biometric import works without drama, and the self-service portal has cut my inbox down to something manageable.
My one gripe is with the mobile app. It lags behind the desktop experience in ways that feel a bit neglected, and a couple of minor bugs in the check-in screen took longer than I'd like to get patched. Customer support was helpful but slow on that one. Still, for a nonprofit on a modest budget, the value is hard to argue with. Dependable, affordable, and genuinely fit for purpose.
