We transitioned from Sage Payroll, which was our first payroll service. I was somewhat ambivalent about our time with Sage. After doing payroll 100% in-house, I thought moving to a payroll service would have been more of a sea change. It was a functional product, but I was still forced to do some tasks that I thought the service would cover. Similarly, the reporting and data were also functional, but it took work to manipulate it in a way that was useful for my needs. I was worried when iSolved acquired Sage. I feared that my limited service was going to get worse, or that the price was going to push payroll back in-house. Neither of those fears were realized. Debbie L. handled our transition. It was unbelievably easy. I was impressed that everything made it over to iSolved with literally zero action on my end. All I had to do was review. Debbie's Webex help with the first payroll was all I needed to process on my own. The website is intuitive and modern. She also, without prompting on my part, asked about the third-party payments AND the local tax. She set those up that first day, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Why take on the expense of a payroll service if they are only taking 90% of the job off your plate? Debbie also stressed the iSolved University as a great resource, which it is. I have submitted cases to customer support, only to close them after I found the answer myself. The reporting is superior. I can download the payroll register in Excel like this is the 21st century. And this is a canned report, ready to go. This was something I had to build with Sage, and there was further manipulation once the Sage report was downloaded. We are paying slightly more now than we were with Sage, but the added value makes it worth the cost. The only negative so far has been customer support. Sage was incredibly responsive to emailed questions, but not so much with iSolved. The iSolved University mitigates much of this complaint. Additionally, we went live just as Covid hit, so I am declining to issue a final verdict because these are not normal times, especially with regards to payroll. I am giving Customer Service 5 stars based solely on my experience with Debbie during implementation and her follow up. Very professional and helpful. We are only three months into our relationship with iSolved, but my only worry now is that someone else is going to acquire them and take away the great product that just fell into my lap.
