Permissions and admin setup is where Dext genuinely earns its keep. Three years ago, our team was barely a dozen people and the configuration options felt like overkill. Now, with headcount closer to forty, I cannot imagine trying to manage receipt flows and supplier rules without the granular user controls Dext gives you. Adding a new staff member, scoping what they can see, restricting certain document categories to specific people, it all takes minutes rather than the afternoon it used to take with our old spreadsheet-and-email setup. The onboarding flow for new users is clear enough that I rarely have to hold anyone's hand.
The supplier rules engine deserves a special mention. Once you dial those in, the categorisation basically runs itself. My one honest gripe is that the permissions interface can feel slightly buried when you're navigating between multiple client workspaces at speed, and customer support response times have occasionally been slower than I'd like. But those are small complaints against a product that has genuinely grown with us.
