The core time-tracking piece does what it promises. Punches recorded, schedules visible, admin time down compared to the spreadsheet mess we had before. Fine. But two years into this, the integration story is where TrackSmart keeps losing me. Our payroll tool, our HR platform, our Slack setup, getting any of them to talk to TrackSmart reliably has been a patchwork of workarounds and manual exports. For a startup trying to move fast, that overhead stings.
They offer some native connections, but the list is short and the documentation feels like it was written for a different product version. My dev team spent a solid week trying to get the API working with our HR system and eventually gave up on a real-time sync. Customer support was polite but slow, and the answers were often generic. If your stack is simple, you might be fine. If you're building on multiple tools and expect them to actually talk to each other, go in with low expectations on that front.
