The reporting side of Avalara is the reason I keep renewing it for my clients. About a year in now, managing compliance across a dozen different accounts, and the dashboards give me a genuinely clear picture of where each client stands at any given moment. Filing histories, nexus exposure summaries, exemption certificate statuses, all in one place. That used to mean juggling spreadsheets and chasing down emails.
One gripe: the analytics exports can be clunky when a client needs something customized. You sometimes hit a wall and have to massage the data elsewhere. But for day-to-day oversight of multiple entities, the visibility Avalara provides is hard to argue with.
