Nonprofit budgets are unforgiving, and when I first brought Rackspace to our finance committee three years ago, the pricing conversation was the hardest part. What won them over, and honestly what still impresses me, is how transparent the billing actually is. No mystery line items, no surprise overages that blow up a quarter. The managed cloud tier we settled on fits our funding cycles in a way that a pure pay-as-you-go model never did, and their team worked with us to right-size the package rather than upsell us into something we didn't need.
For an education-adjacent org watching every pound and dollar, that kind of honesty matters more than flashy features. Support has been excellent too, responsive and patient with staff who aren't deeply technical. Ease of use could be smoother for first-timers on the control panel, but that's a minor complaint given what we get. Three years in and I haven't seriously looked elsewhere.
