Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
Remote Desktop Manager is overwhelmingly praised by users as a comprehensive, time-saving connection management tool that consolidates remote access, credentials, and documentation in a single secure platform. The vast majority of reviews are five-star ratings spanning users with years of experience relying on the software daily.
Users consistently highlight the broad protocol support—RDP, SSH, SQL, VPN, FTP, and many others—as a key strength, along with the ability to organize connections through folder structures and share them across teams via centralized databases. Features like automatic VPN dial-before-connect, session recording, MFA, audit logging, password aging reports, and customizable macros are frequently mentioned as valuable for both security and efficiency. The add-on marketplace and flexibility for scripting and automation are praised for extending functionality further. Support responsiveness and continuous product updates also receive consistent positive mention.
Pricing emerges as the only notable criticism, with a couple of reviews noting costs could be lower, though most accept the value as justified. A few users express wishes for additional entry types (like AnyDesk), but these are isolated requests rather than systemic gaps. The free version is acknowledged as genuinely useful with substantial functionality.
Overall, the community response is exceptionally positive. Multiple long-term users (some over 10 years) report they cannot imagine returning to previous tools, and many have adopted it across multiple employers. No significant usability, performance, or reliability complaints surface across the 50 reviews.

“Several years ago I started looking for a tool to…”
Several years ago I started looking for a tool to consolidate all the various connections I was making - RDP connections to windows boxes, SSH connections to Linux machines, SQL connections, AWS connections, etc. The most annoying though were the SSH and RDP sessions. If only there were a tool that did both...After reviewing several consolidation tools in the space (RDPMan, Terminals, RoyalTS, and mRemote to name a few); I stumbled across RDM from Devolutions. It took a little bit to get used to the tool, but as I did, I reveiled a world of connection Nirvana, RDP, SSH, FTP, SCP, and even conditional VPN connectivity! Then I learned of the Add-Ons. You mean that wasn't all? Nope - Add-Ons extended that capability to including reporting via RVTools, ASA Firewall connections, SQL Server connections (including netonly logon capability!), it had just about everything I could imagine! Best of all, it embeds the same capabilities as Password Vault for managing passwords. Not just for the connections, but for anything - websites, documents, even credit card information. RDM leverages Password Vault to not only be a single point for all your connection needs, but rather being a single source for all your information needs. Okay, okay, that may be a little over the top, but it makes the point on what can be done using this one tool. As I switched through several jobs, I have a few mainstay tools that I use at EVERY job. Devolutions RDM has been one of them (and, in fact, the only one that is not open source and/or cross platform with Linux....yet). In fact, it has been so useful to me, that I have upgraded from the VERY capable free version to the Full Version using my own money so I will always have that tool regardless of where I work. Frankly, I can't even count how many hours it has already saved me in the last 3+ years since I started using it in earnest. But I can tell you that it WILL save time for ANY IT worker.

“I have been using Remote Desktop Manager for over 1…”
I have been using Remote Desktop Manager for over 1 year now and can honestly say that I can't live without it anymore. I work for an IT consultancy company which implements ERP software at more than 100 customers. A lot of these customers use all kinds of exotic remote connections, which is a real drama to support them. Remote connections like VPN tunnels (using a lot of different clients), direct RDP, Web logins, etc. Having more than 100 colleagues, all of them were manually creating remote connections to support our customers. No need to say that this was very inefficient. Now with RDM, my colleagues can easily connect remotely to all our customers, as it is using a centralized database (SQL) and virtual machines as jump hosts to create VPN tunnels. One other major plus of Devolutions, is that this company is really listening to its customers. When a problem arrises, Devolutions is really fast to fix the problem and when a feature is needed but not yet available, Devolutions will implement it very fast. So I would really advice everyone to give Remote Desktop Manager from Devolutions a try.

Been using RDM for 6 years and it has become the primary tool for my system administration responsibilities. It allows me to aggregate all the tools into a single database that can be connected to from multiple devices instead of moving multiple configuration files from device to device.

“I have used RDM for over 5 years now. I…”
I have used RDM for over 5 years now. I can quite literally remote into a crazy amount of connection environments all within under a minute if I want to as well as a specific connection environment along with its specific VPN connection dynamically if I want without having to connect to that groups VPN first. Remoting like a boss has never been easier.

Amazing Software! I use it A LOT. It solves lots of problems, like using a single interface to manage everything that you may remember, saves in a database, keeps your data safe, and split by the user, groups, etc. It allows creating reports, import and export everything, safely. It's my daily companion tool.

“I have been using Devolutions since I joined my company…”
I have been using Devolutions since I joined my company and I was responsible to install and test it to decide if we'll go forward with Devolutions. Finally, after some testing and found the strength and its fantastic features , we adopted Devolutions at Advanced Utility Systems. Devolutions has jelp the organization and its employees to reduce connection time and increase productivity. Devolutions allows to make multiple connections simultaneously and storing the credentials. We can also prevent collisions of connections by looking at who is connected at any time and we can track connections per employee by running the reports available. Finally ,I can say in spite of us not using all the features of Devolutions I can see that DEvolutions has a very bright future in the IT industry. Keep it UP Devolutions Team. BRAVO.

“I have been using Remote Desktop Manager for several years.…”
I have been using Remote Desktop Manager for several years. I like the tabbed user interface, allowing me to easily switch between connections. The ability to set up not only rdp type connections, but ssl, wayk now, and so many more with all the extensions like MS SQL connections. The team feature allows you to set complex connection types once for all team members then monitor via reports who is using each connection.
