Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
IDU-Concept is a strong budgeting and reporting tool that most users find effective and reliable, though the interface has some rough edges. Users consistently praise the system for automating budget processes, streamlining reporting, and reducing reliance on Excel spreadsheets. The drill-down capabilities and ability to customize reports are frequently highlighted strengths, as is the responsive support team. Many users report significant time savings and improved financial visibility after implementation.
The main criticisms centre on user experience. The interface is described as slightly complicated or complex initially, and several users note it could benefit from modernization and improved aesthetics. Performance issues appear occasionally—some mention slow response times under heavy concurrent user load, and a few flag problems with data integration automation requiring manual effort. Dashboard creation is noted as challenging. A few users also mention frustrations with support turnaround on specific queries and limitations in historical data refresh capabilities.
Deployment and support are generally strong points. Reviewers highlight professional implementations completed on time and within budget, plus accessible support staff. The product works well with ERP systems and Excel, and users switching from spreadsheets report substantial operational gains. Several long-term customers (10+ years) confirm the system has stayed relevant and responsive to their evolving needs. Cost-effectiveness relative to competitors like SAGE and OneStream is mentioned as a decision driver. Local versus cloud setup emerges as a minor concern—some suggest cloud deployment would improve uptime and real-time reporting.

“"Easy to use and monitor" What do you like best?…”
"Easy to use and monitor" What do you like best? The ease with which I can see the high level results but then have the ability to drill down to a GL level. Ability to allow users within the business to drill down into their actual expenses to keep track of spending What do you dislike? I can't think of anything material other than users get frustrated at times with clicking through various levels of detail that they don't truly understand, which is required from my side. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Reduces the turnaround time for the budget as well as assist with the ongoing monitoring of the budget. Users are also able to keep tabs on their own departments in detail without having to use up the finance departments time in responding to queries.

“"Implementation of budget reporting integrating with Sage 300 PJC" What…”
"Implementation of budget reporting integrating with Sage 300 PJC" What do you like best? The software has interfaced directly to our job costing software and has provided access to our staff who have now taken ownership of their budgets. The ability to drill down to the financial entries has given a visibility to the actual versus budget results that has been well received by staff at all levels. What do you dislike? The administration side is quite complex. The system has such flexibility that it takes some mastering of all the different areas requiring set up. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? The monthly Board reporting now can involve all areas of the business simultaneously and has reduced the amount of time required to complete the review of the financials. The annual budget process has input from all levels of management and therefore has greater commitment to the budget from the staff.

"Great reporting functions" Various type of reports available for whatever the need. It is easy to compare, view and analyse figures. I like the easy import function. Recommendations to others considering the product I cannot (and don't want to) imagine life of budgeting/forecasting/reporting without IDU. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Actual figures, reports, budgets, etc are always accessible for users, they do not have to rely on accountant to send it ongoing. Different branches/departments can be set up for specific users, and comparative figures are easy to view. “"Powerful Excel Reports" What do you like best? The Excel…”
"Powerful Excel Reports" What do you like best? The Excel reports are customisable to suite entity requirements. The reports that required several downloading then formatting/ merging in excel, now can run on a single go. What do you dislike? The reports can only run for users according to their access rights and does not show the user the access rights at the time of running the report, therefore at first go one may assume that the report is all inclusive. Recommendations to others considering the product If you have any ERP/ accounting system and do need to analyse data and customize reports, IDU is a great system for that. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? The IDU budgeting and reporting functionalities enable us to perform multi-matrix views and reports.

"Great Budgeting Software" What do you like best? The fact that its excel based makes it easy to use. The user flexibility and customization makes IDU perfect for reporting. What do you dislike? Still trying to figure out how the CAPEX tracking can work best for our organisation (reporting especially). If IDU can have the ability to assist in CAPEX spend tracking it will be superb. Recommendations to others considering the product The best budgeting module there is in the industry. Without a doubt. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? With various departments, IDU has assisted with budgetary control - spend monitoring. Looking forward, we hope to have the managers query financial transactions for more accurate management reporting.

What do you like best? Analytics - Reporting. The support received from the Auckland team and SA team is very good. Yearly meet up gives us an product update and a forum to meet other users. What do you dislike? Reporting Licence restriction. Idu Analytics reporting feature is restricted by IDU users. Cost associated to Reporting Licence can restrict small and NFP organizations from using the analytics? What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We are in the process of testing out IDU Business intelligence. Showcasing Idu Analytics on O365 SP online. This would help with reaching out to wider audience.

Pros: Easy to use Excel feel to it makes easy to use Import functionality ease of figuring things out Cons: Upload Dynamic reallocation issues at times sync of data from different companies - SI and SCI combined Overall: I get the most value from IDU based on the consistency it provides and the fact that everything is standard. The ease of pulling reports with different summary levels is beneficial as well.

Pros: That each cost centre manager can access their actual spend against their budget, and it is user friendly for any employee. Cons: Can currently not assist with a few of our other type of business requirements, an IDU team is looking into it. Recommendations to other buyers: Ensure that you have your requirements upfront ready and what the system can do now for you and what it will be able to do in the near future.
