Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
Salesforce earns broad praise for scalability, reporting depth, and support quality, though it demands significant upfront configuration effort and carries a steep price tag that frustrates smaller teams.
Users consistently highlight three standout strengths: the reporting and dashboard tools let teams pull custom pipeline views and analysis in minutes rather than hours; permission structures and admin controls scale cleanly from solo operators to mid-market departments without rebuilding from scratch; and customer support often delivers real answers within hours for paying customers, with several reviewers citing same-day responses to urgent issues. The mobile app also impresses users working remotely or on the road—task logging, call notes, and opportunity updates all function smoothly on smaller screens.
The learning curve looms large at entry. Onboarding assumes dedicated admin support; solo operators and small teams frequently report struggling through the first weeks navigating configuration menus, with documentation that contradicts itself and support responses that sometimes default to generic help articles. Once past that initial wall, the platform rewards patience. Integrations work well for first-party connections (Slack, Microsoft, Google Workspace) but require middleware tools or developer effort for legacy systems. The AppExchange offers useful extensions, though separating maintained apps from abandoned ones takes legwork.
Pricing generates consistent frustration. The per-seat model feels built for enterprise headcounts, and teams regularly report wincing at renewal cycles. Several mid-market reviewers acknowledge the cost stings but conclude the capability justifies it; solo operators remain more conflicted, seeing the expense as difficult to defend on a smaller budget.

“I’ve never seen a day where one person doesn't have…”
I’ve never seen a day where one person doesn't have an issue with Saleforce crashing. It's not just our clients either - I've had several employees that use this program and they report the same thing: Whenever someone calls in or sends an email, there is always some kind of problem involving freezing up on them somewhere down the line! If you do decide to go ahead anyway though- make sure your phone lines aren't being flooded by incoming messages because if too many people contact us at once then SAL goes offline completely until everything settles down again

Pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to use salesforce. I was expecting some kind of complicated interface, but there were so many features that made my life easier as an employee - like being able just log into the system with one account and not having different profiles everywhere! Plus if you want more information on what's happening in your company or industry at any given time? They've got all those too- they're even electoral friendly!!

“The biggest downside to Salesforce is that it doesn't have…”
The biggest downside to Salesforce is that it doesn't have any free integration with Google Calendars. When I need information about my upcoming meetings, all they tell me are the details of one specific meeting but not what time or location this may take place in advance like other apps do such as reminder bellhop which sends notifications directly from your phone if you're close enough so no matter where someone else sees them there's always at least SOME chance he'll know something important has come up ;)

I love that salesforce is so customizable! You can customize it according to your needs, which means the program will work better for you. It's also highly flexible and easy-to use because of its integration with other programs like email or excel files--or even social media sites if needed (although I don't know how well this works).

“The Salesforce Lightning UI has been a huge pain point…”
The Salesforce Lightning UI has been a huge pain point for many people. The changes are so frequent and often radical that it's hard to keep up with them all, let alone teach others how use this new software! A lot of our team is refusing or unwilling... which makes working together more challenging than before because some key elements like links between platforms don't work anymore if you're using an old version (Lightning Desktop).

Usability is just bad. What seems simple is not. The very large complexity of the whole environment is astonishing. Initial setup is relatively easy but, as there are so many possibilities, it is hard to know if you are starting things right. The wording is confusing as there are many different "views" or sort of that are very poorly explained. There is summer, winter, fall versions, marketing, cloud, sales, production environment, lighting experience. Many words reflecting design concepts are not clear to sort through. Just getting access to the invoice to download it is a real nightmare. This usually tells a lot about usability.

The project management platform is not for everyone, but if you're looking to work in sales-related fields this could be perfect. However there are many flaws with the product that will make it difficult or impossible for other types of jobs - especially those involving customer service aspects like contacting clients about their orders once they've been shipped! Be aware also scammers might try extorting money through licensing contracts which salesforce customers into upgrades without refunding previous payments first

“I am stuck between a rock and hard place with…”
I am stuck between a rock and hard place with this crap company. They have done such a good job at becoming the #1 platform that you can basically only find integration to salesforce and no other CRM's. If I had another suitable option with the same ease of use and the same volume of integrations to 3rd party apps, I would have switched a LONG time ago. I have 16 years of experience using and implementing salesforce and I do enjoy the ease of use of the platform. What I don't enjoy is the completely unresponsive customer service skills and a general lack of ownership for any issues with the system. This could be billing, functionality, sales, etc. The response is either non-existent or extremely slow (and I'm not talking 24 hours... I'm talking 2 weeks!) Their salespeople are totally unknowledgeable about their own products and current promotions and the management of their sales staff is the worst I've ever experienced (I've been in sales at Fortune 100 companies for 16+ years).

“We are a small business. Our entire two year tenure…”
We are a small business. Our entire two year tenure with Salesforce was nothing but horror, from the Contract that locked us in and had tons of up front help/support which disappeared once we signed on dotted line; it's enterprise level service only accessible by having an IT person there 24x7 just to maintain this heavy burden--especially since their FAQ pages Point Or Contact Us for assistance! The clunky nature makes learning hard as well because you have so many different things going at once (layering usage security).

I've been running my business through Salesforce for the past 7 years, and I don't know what I would do without it. We only contact our clients through our Salesforce account, and now we have a clear record of every exchange with every client since the beginning of our relationship with them.
