It has come a long way in the 2+ years that I've been using it -- and there are still some flexible offerings it needs to integrate.

Time saver. Ease of use. One place for all HR paperwork. East to sign up for insurances. Employees can easily reach out for support on their own instead of going through HR. There are time where a feature in their wheelhouse is not added, but would save me a ton of time. Sometimes issues take a long time to be resolved. Still unsure how i feel about OneDigital integration/change.

The team also works with us at time of Insurance renewal. The process has been streamlined with help of zenefits. Could be more flexible for contractors and other forms of employment. Currently only for w2 employees.

Time saved. Mistakes avoided (I used to manage some of these areas manually in spreadsheets). I like the ease of use and the simplicity of the software - it handles things like time off and open enrollment that I used to manage manually in Excel spreadsheets. Because it is a "simple" HR platform, sometimes the complexities of daily HR administration aren't supported. For example, I wanted to increase the PTO bank maximum/cap for 2 employees for a temporary basis. That's not possible in Zenefits without creating an additional PTO policy and switching employees to that policy, which I'm sure will cause some unforeseen consequences. Plus it's time consuming. In short - t's not fully customizable.

A single place to store and reference HR information including time off tracking, onboarding, offboarding, insurance, HSA, and personnel information. Previously, our system was messy and incomplete, but Zenefits helps us stay organized and compliant. The thing I like most about the Zenefits software is the ability to store the majority of our HR information in one place that is easy to access by staff. I have very little HR experience, and one the of the main reasons I was excited to move to the Zenefits platform was due to the level of personal support I received. I had a direct contact for general questions, a direct contact for insurance questions, and the option to open a ticket. Now I only have the option to open a ticket or search through the information database. I seem to have questions too specific to find enough information in the generalized, vague data listed within the searchable answers which means I search for hours only to then need to open a ticket. Then my ticket response is sometimes that I need to refer to a link with generalized information. It can be very frustrating, and I tend to just skip using Zenefits support by instead seeking help from a pro bono HR support site. I mostly just use Zenefits for tracking; not support or guidance.

I don't think there is a free version anymore. I did not mind paying but did not feel I was getting enough value.

The software is very easy to navigate. Its easy to go from one module to another. Information loaded into system is automatically entered across to other modules. Some of the product modules still have a way to go to catch up to other providers, especially in the Payroll arena. Zenefits Payroll is not able to perform some of the basics that other products have. They are also not set up well to handle multiple companies under a single umbrella.

Streamline employee management. Compliance documents (e-sign) and reminders is super helpful. I like that everything from onboarding, to document management, time management, and benefits management can be managed in one platform. Reduces risk of human error and missing any compliance documents. So many fees for adding features - To get the full suite of features, it would cost a lot per user. For a company with a tight budget, I have to pick and choose my features (which I guess is a good and bad thing because I wish I could have them all but can't because of the cost)
